In this YouTube video, I’ll share my process for painting photorealistic trees in a landscape scene. This video features a painting that I have been working on, where the trees in the landscape scene have already been blocked in.
I start by painting the shaded areas of the trees, and then I use layers to add the details of the leaves. You’ll also see what colours, brushes and techniques I use to recreate the leaves in the reference photo I’m using.
I hope that you enjoy this demonstration, and that it gives you an insight into my process for painting photorealistic trees in oil.
